It is mandatory that all DHS employees statewide complete each of the following trainings by close of business on Nov. 1, 2016.

HIPAA HITECH 2016: This is the Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) training. DHS is required by law to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected data. We must strive to ensure that all employees are up-to-date on: 1) the pertinent rules and regulations, 2) the sensitivity of HIPAA HITECH material, and 3) what each of us must do to ensure we protect the information we gather from all of the Georgians we serve.

DHS Information Security Awareness 2016: This Security Awareness training includes IT threats; password, internet, and web usage; mobile phone security and remote access; and handling of sensitive data and accountability. All employees must show mastery of the content by completing the test with a score of 70 or above.  If your score is below 70, you must re-take the test.

Workplace Violence: This is a security and safety training provided by the Office of Inspector General. It provides an overview of workplace safety, situational awareness, and how to recognize warning signs. The course also provides training on strategies for dealing with an active shooter scenario.

Course access details are given below. Two job aids are also attached: one for contractors and non-state-paid employees, and the other for all DHS employees. Be sure to refer to the appropriate aid.
